Every year, Charter Spectrum releases a "Back to School" themed free-standing insert (FSI). The insert outlines deals geared toward college students for the coming school year.
I helped our team brainstorm concepts for the upcoming back-to-school FSI. We reviewed past FSI examples, making sure to choose a different visual direction from past years.
Following the brainstorm, I developed a cover page and one content page for two initial concepts. The first concept turned the FSI into a composition notebook with pen and pencil header fonts, and embossed label stickers. The second concept focused on a chalkboard theme with a chalk-based header font and illustrated chalk icons.
We reviewed all our initial concepts, and my chalkboard concept received positive feedback. To finish out the project, I carried the chalkboard theme through a full eight-page FSI, showing a variety of spreads.
